Jon Bernthal (Wolf of Wall Street, The Walking Dead) will portray Frank Castle (AKA “The Punisher”), one of Marvel’s most popular icons. He is a vigilante who aims to clean up New York City’s Hell’s Kitchen by any means necessary, no matter how lethal the results. The second season will be streaming only on Netflix in March 2016. The character first appeared in “The Amazing Spider-Man #129” and in due course was granted his own series (“The Punisher”, 1986). We are guessing that the introduction of this more ambiguous persona, with the inconvenient habit of straying on both sides of the law, is certain to add a compelling counterpart to Matt Murdock and the gang.

“Jon Bernthal brings an unmatched intensity to every role he takes on, with a potent blend of power, motivation and vulnerability that will connect with audiences”, said Jeph Loeb, Marvel’s Head of Television. “Castle’s appearance will bring dramatic changes to the world of Matt Murdock and nothing will be the same”.

Bernthal has previously showcased the necessary acting chops to portray Frank Castle and will be a welcome new addition to fans of the first season. Talk is abound already about a new spin-off in the works featuring “The Punisher” as the principle protagonist.

The second season of “Marvel’s Daredevil” is being produced by Marvel Television in association with ABC Studios. Season 1 began airing on Netflix on April 10th 2015 and confirmation of the second season was released shortly into the first season’s run.
