DC Comics’s Gods Among Us: Ground Zero preview
A printed series of Injustice: Gods Among Us: Ground Zero begins in December. Following the best-selling Injustice: Gods Among Us comic book series by Tom Taylor and Brian Buccelato, DC debuted in October the all-new Ground Zero digital series. Continuing the epic injustice saga, the storyline tells the same tale as the critically acclaimed Injustice: Gods Among Us video game, but with a twist – fans will get to relive the game’s storyline through the twisted and demented eyes of the clown princess of crime, Harley Quinn.
The series was developed in part by Injustice writer Brian Buccellato and is written by Chris Sebela (Escape from New York). This will be Sebela’s first DC project and he will be joined by a rotating cast of artists including Pop Mhan, Daniel Sempere, and others. Chris Sebela has discussed his perspective on the project. “I’m so excited to have Harley Quinn as our eyes and ears and heart of the book. While so much of Injustice is about larger than life figures at odds with each other, Harley’s down on the ground, dodging the fallout of all these wars, getting herself into trouble and trying to figure out how to live life post-Joker.”
What can we expect from issue #1 of Injustice: Gods Among Us: Ground Zero? Things kick off with Harley recapping the highs and lows of the previous five years. Determined to do her part to strike a blow against Superman’s new world order, she gathers her gang of Jokers to launch a raid on one of the Regime’s Super Pill factories. In later episodes we can expect the appearance of Wonder Woman, Green Arrow and Batman from the parallel Earth, and further attempts by various interest parties to remove Superman from his throne.
The first printed issue is available from December 7th and subsequent issues will be published bi-monthly.
